Ranking Top Quarterbacks the Titans Will Face in 2023

In this story:
NASHVILLE — If you couldn't already tell, the Tennessee Titans' defense will have it's hands full this upcoming season. Not only will they have to babysit the Titans' offense and single-handedly lead the Titans to victories, but they will also be tasked with stopping some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.
The Titans will take on four of the top ten quarterbacks in the NFL in 2023, but which of the quarterbacks should scare the Titans the most. Let's rank them.
1. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals, Week 4
Even in Burrow's rookie season when the Bengals' roster was still one of the worst in the NFL, Burrow took it to the Titans with a 31-20 win in 2020. Since then, with an improved roster, Burrow has yet to lose a game to the Titans in two additional tries. The Titans lost to the Bengals 19-16 in a devastating playoff loss in 2021 and then lost again, 20-16, in 2022. Burrow owns the Titans as it stands, so a Week 4 matchup with the Bengals should have the Titans shaking in their boots.
2. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens, Week 6
The Titans have had quite a few battles with Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. The Titans won the first two matchups, a playoff win in 2019 and an overtime win in the 2020 regular season, but Jackson currently has the last laugh after knocking the Titans out of the playoffs in 2020. Jackson, a former MVP, has more weapons around him this season than ever before, so stopping him will be as difficult a task as ever.
3. Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars, Week 11/18
Lawrence is third on this list and that may be a hot take to some, but with the Titans having to take on Lawrence twice in 2023 and his rapid improvement, he is deserving of the spot. Lawrence didn't have his best game against the Titans in Week 18 of 2022, but Lawrence should be even better in 2023 and the Jaguars have improved as well.
4. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers, Week 2
Herbert has freakish talent. He has size, arm strength and mobility. Most would say he is better than Lawrence and I would agree, but last year's playoffs showed that Lawrence is more clutch than Herbert. Herbert gave the Titans' defense 367 passing yards in the 2022 meeting, so appropriate fear is still necessary here.
