NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans front office makeover continues this offseason with the addition of Sarah Bailey as the Direct of Football Research and Development. According to an official statement from the Titans, Bailey's role will include leading the analytics department for the team, assisting coaches and scouts.

Bailey's focus on analytics and eventual hire continue to show what a different mentality the new Carthonian front office has from it's predecessor. The Titans were regarded as one of the least analytically-focused teams in the NFL under Jon Robinson, but with Carthon that clearly will not be the case.

Carthon spent time with the Los Angeles Rams organization prior to going to San Francisco, so even though Bailey and Carthon didn't work together very long, if at all, certainly Carthon has people he trusts still in Los Angeles to give him some advice on Bailey.

Like we saw with the hire of Chad Brinker, Carthon seems to be targeting some of the most successful and rising talents in the NFL front office landscape. Bailey brings a Super Bowl pedigree. The Titans are hoping that experience can help this team flip the way they go about decision making going forward.

The term "collaboration" has been used excessively by members of the Titans front office and coaching staff in recent months. Carthon is putting that motto in practice by reforming the Titans' process.

If Carthon's goal is to find the brightest in the industry, the plan is clearly to take multiple informed opinions, truly value the input and then make the smartest decision possible. True collaboration.

The Titans are trying to put the finishing touches on their roster as the season approaches, but Carthon continues to shape his new front office as well. The hiring of Bailey is just another example of how the Titans are modernizing their process and giving themselves the best chance possible to win a championship.
