Tennessee Titans Sign WR Chris Moore to Free Agent Deal

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans have finally added a veteran wide receiver in free agency. According to the team’s Twitter account, the Titans have officially signed Chris Moore. This is a move that was expected after the Titans had a meeting with Moore last week.
Moore will come to Tennessee a year after setting career highs in several statistic with the Houston Texans in 2022. Moore put up 48 catches for 548 yards and two touchdowns. It was by far the best season of Moore’s career. Throughout his seven-year career Moore has amassed 116 catches and 1,286 receiving yards with eight touchdown catches.

Moore will turn 30 years old this season and will be suiting up with his third team. Moore spent his first five season with Baltimore before spending his last two in Houston. While Moore does nothing to add to the team speed that Mike Vrabel has been talking about all offseason, he does add a veteran presence to a young receiver room and adds special teams value.
Moore has returned 46 kickoffs in his career and put up 1080 return yards. However, he has never scored on a return in his career and he has not returned a kickoff since 2019. Not only that, but Moore hasn’t gone over 200 special teams snaps in a season since 2019 as well. It would be fair to say his impact on special teams is something that is a bit overstated in most Titans’ media circles.
This move doesn’t do anything to change the need the Titans have at receiver. There is as good of a chance that Moore doesn’t make the team at all as there is that he makes a noticeable impact. Regardless, Moore will now be asked to come over to the Titans and bring a veteran presence and just maybe the Titans get a repeat of the numbers Moore put up last season in Houston.
