In this story:

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Titans brought in rookie quarterback Will Levis partly because of his familiarity with the type of offensive system the Titans run, but that doesn't mean the rookie would feel right at home from day one.

It is only natural that it would take some time for a rookie to acclimated to his surroundings and the playbook. According to quarterback coach Charles London via Buck Reising, Levis is finally starting to get more comfortable in recent practices and it shows.

"I think he has gotten more comfortable overall," London said. "Generally, just with the whole offense, but I have seen some improvement with him in the pocket, in layering his throws and using what we call different club selection on different throws. I think he is beginning to progress there. As you get more and more comfortable and the more and more he's getting used to his receivers, calling the play in the huddle and what we're asking him to do, I think we've seen improvement there."

The golf analogy is an interesting one. It is no secret Levis has a cannon for an arm, but his ability to throw with touch and to layer the ball over defenders has been in question, and for good reason. If Levis can improve that aspect of his throwing ability he will have every possible club you could carry in your bag.

As for the operational aspect, Levis came from a system at Kentucky that was orchestrated by Liam Coen. Coen spent a lot of time under Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay and brought a wide-zone pro-style system with him to the college ranks.

Levis has been in a similar situation stylistically and operationally for two college seasons before getting drafted. That, in theory, should help him get comfortable more quickly, but at the end of the day, he is a rookie. Regardless, sounds like Levis is finally settling in and we will see if that will translate to the field on Saturday.
