Eric Staal, Hurricanes: Carolina needed a big effort from their big man to stay alive and Staal got them off on the right foot, opening the scoring just 1:36 into the game on a nifty wraparound. While he couldn't add to that one, the club's leading scorer was a threat the rest of the night, using his size and reach to wreak havoc down low and generating a half dozen quality scoring chances.

Rob Scuderi, Penguins: He's one of those players you have to watch on a regular basis to truly appreciate. No wonder everyone's finally catching on to Scuderi as these playoffs roll on. He was a rock in the defensive zone, clogging up the passing lanes with his stick and using his big body to keep intruding forwards to the outside. And you have to love his sense of timing. Plenty of teams, including the Pens, will be interested in the impending UFA's services this summer.
