Want to know why Nathan MacKinnon is the top-ranked forward for the 2013 NHL Entry Draft? As one scout told SI.com, "This kid is totally focused. He's always on point." (Here are my Top 30 rankings.)

MacKinnon's focus was on display Wednesday night, as the 17-year-old winger added another indelible moment to his draft-year highlight reel. His Halifax Mooseheads were trailing the rival Rimouski Oceanic midway through the third period when MacKinnon took a pass in the slot from Detroit Red Wings prospect Martin Frk. As he turned toward the net, he got hauled down by Oceanic defender Ryan MacKinnon (no relation that I know of), but somehow maintained control of the puck. As he hit the ice with the defender on his back, MacKinnon got off a wrister that beat Rimouski netminder Robin Gusse to tie the game at four.

OK, so he caught a break when his shot deflected in off the skate of Nicolas Hebert, but this is still a beauty.
