The Czech reporter who last summer broke the story that Jaromir Jagr would sign with New Jersey has a second round of good news for the team's fans.
The 42-year-old right winger played with a one-year deal with the Devils in 2013-14, led the team in scoring (64 points) and was set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Renaud Lavoie of the French-language broadcaster TVA reports that Jagr could receive $5-$6 million, depending on bonuses achieved.
If he were to record 44 points next season, he would move into fourth place on the NHL’s all-time points list, behind only Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier and Gordie Howe.
He needs just 13 goals to move past Mike Gartner and Phil Esposito into fifth place on the all-time goals list.
