Flames' Sam Bennett to have shoulder surgery

CALGARY, Alberta (AP) The Calgary Flames said Thursday that rookie center Sam Bennett needs shoulder surgery and is expected to be sidelined four to six months.

The 18-year-old Bennett, the fourth overall draft pick this year, had 36 goals and 55 assists in 57 games last season for the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League.
