NHL buys full-page newspaper ad to honor Jean Béliveau

The NHL honored Montreal Canadiens great Jean Béliveau by purchasing a full-page ad in Thursday's Globe and Mail, a nationally-distributed Canadian newspaper.

Béliveau died on Tuesday night at the age of 83. His body will lie in the Bell Centre on Sunday and Monday so fans can pay their respects before he is buried on Wednesday.
Béliveau played for the Canadiens from 1950 to 1971. At the time of his retirement he was the franchise's all-time points leader. He was a 13-time All-Star and won the Hart Trophy, the NHL's MVP award, twice. He won ten Stanley Cups as a player and seven more as a Canadiens vice president.
