Predators send Salomaki to minors after goal in NHL debut

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Nashville Predators have reassigned forward Miika Salomaki (MEE-kah SA-loh-MA-kee) to the minors a day after he scored a goal in his NHL debut.

The Predators said Friday that Salomaki was going back to Milwaukee of the American Hockey League.

The 21-year-old from Finland scored off a rebound of his own shot on a breakaway in Nashville's 3-2 overtime win Thursday night against Dallas. He had four shots on net and a game-high seven hits.

Nashville activated forwards Taylor Beck and Matt Cullen off injured reserve, prompting Salomaki's move back to the minors.
