The Buffalo Sabres have suspended defenseman Nikita Zadorov for failing to report to the team on time following the All-Star break, the team announced Monday.

Zadorov missed Monday's practice, but his suspension is not expected to be lengthy.

"We anticipate Nikita joining the team at some point during this week's western road trip," general manager Tim Murray said in a statement.
