The Columbus Blue Jackets agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension with right wing Cam Atkinson on Monday, the team announced.
Atkinson, 25, would have been a restricted free agent at season's end and had been the subject of trade rumors leading up to Monday's 3 p.m. ET deadline. The Columbus Dispatch reports the extension is worth $10.5 million.

This season, his fourth with the Blue Jackets, Atkinson has amassed 13 goals and 12 assists, with a minus-6 rating in 58 games. He was drafted in the sixth round by Columbus in 2008.
Columbus (26-32) currently sits in seventh out of eight teams in the Metropolitan Division.
