Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson has been fined $2,000 for diving against the Minnesota Wild on March 19.
Wilson, who turns 21 on Sunday, was warned following Washington’s game against Toronto on March 1, and the second citation against the Wild triggered the fine.
The fines for diving increase in $1,000 increments before leveling off at $5,000.
Wilson is in his second season with the Capitals after being the No. 16 pick in the 2012 draft. In 61 games this season, he has four goals and 12 assists.
The Capitals are 40-24-10 and the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference. They have a five-point cushion for a Wild Card spot.
Washington hosts the Nashville on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. ET.
