NHL forward Milan Lucic, who the Boston Bruins traded to the Los Angeles Kings on draft day, thanked all of his fans in the Boston Globe
The 27 year old said goodbye to Boston in a note to his supporters, saying that he played in front of a group of fans he will never forget, giving special recognition to fans from Boston's North End.
He helped the Bruins win the 2011 Stanley Cup, coming from behind to defeat the Vancouver Canucks four games to three in the best of seven series.
“To the people of Boston,” Lucic continued, “You ARE #BostonStrong.”
The Bruins traded Lucic to the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for a No. 13 draft pick just hours before the 2015 NHL draft started on June 26.
Lucic tied for third on the team in scoring during the 2014–15 season, with 18 goals and 26 assists.
