Watch: Rangers’ Lundqvist makes diving save to rob Coyotes’ Duclair
Henrik Lundqvist, how do you do it?
With the Rangers up 3–1 over the Coyotes late in the third period on Thursday, Lundqvist made a ridiculous diving save to rob former Ranger Anthony Duclair.
One would expect an easy goal when a budding star has a wide open net to shoot on, but not so fast. The King had other ideas.
This isn’t Lundqvist’s first jaw-dropping save of the season, either. Through his first seven games, the 33-year-old has already added three saves to his highlight reel.
• MARRAZZA: Rookie Anthony Duclair making Coyotes look really smart
First, he denied Blue Jackets center Ryan Johansen of an easy tap-in with his paddle on Oct. 10.
Jets center Alexander Burmistrov was his next victim, when a puck off the end boards left another gaping net, but Hank somehow got a piece of it.
On Thursday, Lundqvist’s save preserved the Rangers’ two-goal lead, and they held on to defeat the Coyotes 4–1 at Madison Square Garden.
