Watch: Sharks’ Patrick Marleau beats Florida defense, scores backhand goal

San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau scored a beauty against the Florida Panthers on Thursday night.

Age is just a number, right?

San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau is still scoring beauties at 36 years old. With a 2–1 lead over the Florida Panthers on Thursday, Marleau sent the SAP Center crowd into a frenzy with an impressive individual effort to give the Sharks a two-goal lead early in the second period.

The 220-pound left wing used a burst of speed to burn Panthers defenseman Alex Petrovic around the outside and cut to the front of the net to beat the poke check of goaltender Al Montoya for his fourth goal of the season.
