In the third period of Sunday’s game between the Sharks and the Blue Jackets in Ohio, Columbus had a two-goal advantage and was 18:37 away from spoiling a perfect road trip for the Sharks. San Jose, however, found an offensive eruption at the right time to complete the record-setting trip.

Down 3–1, the Sharks scored four times in the period to get past the Blue Jackets. Captain Joe Pavelski scored twice and Sharks defensemen Brent Burns and Brenden Dillon were also goalscorers for San Jose during the comeback.

The final was 5-3, including the empty net goal.

The road trip of six games and six wins is a franchise record for San Jose, which is all of a sudden atop of very competitive Pacific Division.
