Watch: Bruins’ Trent Frederic Wins Fight in NHL Debut, Parents Give Ecstatic Ovation

The Bruins might have lost the game, but Trent Frederic won the fight in his debut.

Trent Frederic's parents got to see something very special when the Bruins rookie made his NHL debut Tuesday night.

No, they didn't get to see their son score his first goal or win his first NHL game. What they saw was way more awesome and probably slightly more memorable than either of those moments will prove to be.

In Boston's 4–3 loss to the Jets, Frederic's parents got to see the Wisconsin product win his first ever fight in the NHL.

Like I said, way cooler than hitting a puck with a stick. He hit another person with his fists so well he made his mom cheer. That's not an easy feat.

Luckily for Frederic, he is better at throwing a punch than his parents are at executing a high-five.

The Bruins host the Flyers on Thursday, so maybe Frederic can experience victory and or scoring in that game. For now, he can take solace in knowing he's 1-0 when it comes to throwing hands.
