For the second time in as many seasons, a crotch grab has resulted in an MLS player suspension.

Vancouver Whitecaps center back Diego Rodriguez was the perpetrator this time, grabbing Orlando City defender Aurelien Collin in the 62nd minute of the Whitecaps' 1-0 win over the Lions.

Rodriguez is suspended for two games, and he'll miss Western Conference clashes against the Portland Timbers and LA Galaxy. After missing the first two games of the season, Rodriguez had made his team and league debut against Orlando City. He was not carded on the play, but the MLS Disciplinary Committee reviewed the incident and issued the retrospective ban.

There is precedent for such an incident. Last July, then-New York Red Bulls center back Jamison Olave was guilty of a similar infraction against Real Salt Lake's Olmes Garcia. He was banned two games as well. After an offseason trade, he and Garcia are now teammates.
