Clint Dempsey scored his second goal off a header in Tuesday's CONCACAF Gold Cup match against Honduras, putting the U.S. up 2–0 off of a free kick from Michael Bradley. 

Dempsey, playing in his native Texas, had put the USA up 1-0 in the 25th minute, and he doubled that lead in the 64th. He was first to meet Bradley's free kick at the edge of the six-yard box, heading the ball down and into the lower right corner of the next

Honduras answered the U.S. strike with a goal of its own through Carlos Discua just four minutes later, but the Americans held on for the three-point haul, taking an early lead in the competition's Group A. Panama and Haiti tied 1-1 in the group's other match on the night.
