Oribe Peralta gives Mexico 2–1 lead over U.S. with extra-time goal

Sunday October 11th, 2015

Oribe Peralta scored in extra time to give Mexico a 2–1 lead over the United States in the CONCACAF Cup. Though the U.S. would respond with a goal from Bobby Wood, Mexico came out on top thanks to Paul Aguilar's 118th-minute volley to win the game.

Peralta scored after Mexico slipped a ball in over the top of the U.S. back line. He stepped up to receive a sliding diagonal-back from Aguilar and finished past keeper Brad Guzan to break the tie.

Earlier in the game, Chicharito gave Mexico a 1–0 lead off a neat passing combination from Peralta in the ninth minute. Geoff Cameron equalized on a header shortly afterward, in the 15th minute.
