2013 was an emotional one for the U.S. men's national team.

At the start, there was uncertainty, frustration and disappointment. As the year went on, there was tangible progress and great hope, and by the end jubilation. Jozy Altidore emerged from his international scoring slump to help carry the USA through the Hexagonal. Landon Donovan returned with great effect, guiding the Americans to the Gold Cup.
