Report: NYCFC exploring holding training camp in England

New York City FC is exploring the possibility of holding its January training camp in Manchester, England. Such a move could potentially allow NYCFC's Frank Lampard to extend his stay with Manchester City.

Expansion MLS club New York City FC is exploring the possibility of holding its January training camp in Manchester, England, according to The Guardian. 

Such a move could potentially allow NYCFC's Frank Lampard, who is currently on loan with Manchester City, to extend his stay with City.

A training camp in Manchester would be held at the new City Football Academy training complex, according to The Guardian. NYCFC is also reportedly looking into playing some friendlies in the area at the same time.

Lampard is due to end his stay with City at the end of January. NYCFC begins its inaugural MLS season in March. 

The 36-year-old midfielder has four goals and two assists in seven appearances with City this season. He was named the team's player of the month for September.

Lampard signed a two-year deal with New York City FC in July.
