The Colorado Rapids have signed Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Kevin Doyle as a Designated Player, the club announced Friday.

Doyle, 31, has scored 92 goals in 357 appearances for English clubs since 2005. The striker has also scored 14 goals in 61 caps for the Republic of Ireland.

“I know from talking to Robbie Keane that MLS is a great league to play in and I look forward to being another top Irish player there," Doyle said.

Doyle is the third Designated Player in Rapids history.

The Rapids drew the Philadelphia Union 0-0 in their first game. Colorado hosts New York City FC on Saturday.
