Jozy Altidore kicked off his 2016 with a pair of goals for the U.S. men's national team, and he's hoping that sparks a big year for both his club and country, which have high expectations in their own ways.

While showing off U.S. Soccer's new crest on Monday's SI Now, Altidore spoke to SI's Maggie Gray about a number of pertinent topics, including his charge up the U.S. scoring charts, where he currently sits one goal behind Eric Wynalda for third all-time.

More notably, Altidore comments on Tim Howard's reported move to the Colorado Rapids from Everton ("Timmy is in for a big challenge in Colorado, and I think he knows that and I think that's part of the reason why he's going there"), his newest hamstring issue ("People made it out to be more than what it was"), the USA's Copa America Centenario group draw ("It's doable. ... We have more than what it takes to get through") and the pressure on Toronto FC a year after the club made the playoffs for the first time in franchise history ("We have everything in place").
