Barcelona is paying homage to its team from 25 years ago and will revert back to a uniform with vertical blue and red stripes after playing last season in hoops, the club revealed on Monday

Barcelona's 2016-17 jersey is a tribute to the 1991-92 European Cup winners, the first continental triumph for the club that has gone on to win four more titles since then in a period of extended dominance.

The new kit is shown without a jersey sponsor. Qatar Airways and Barcelona have their five-year sponsorship agreement end in June, and there has been no renewal or new sponsor for the uniform as of yet.

Barcelona won La Liga and Copa del Rey titles this season, a year after winning the league, cup and Champions League treble under Luis Enrique. Rival Real Madrid captured the Champions League trophy with a win in penalties over Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
