Sweden coach Erik Hamren on Wednesday promoted six players from the team that won the European Under-21 trophy last year to the 23-man senior squad he's bringing to the European Championship in France next month.

Goalkeeper Patrik Carlgren, defenders Victor Nilsson Lindelof and Ludwig Augustinsson, midfielders Oscar Lewicki and Oscar Hiljemark and Celta Vigo striker John Guidetti were key players in the U-21 team that beat Portugal on penalties in the final.

Guidetti will be competing with Marcus Berg of Panathinaikos and Emir Kujovic of Swedish champion Norrkoping for a spot next to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Sweden's attack.

"I know I'm up against good players but I've got confidence and believe in myself," said Kujovic, the Swedish league's top scorer last season with 21 goals.

At 27, the Yugoslav-born striker has made only three senior appearances for the national team.

Sweden beat Scandinavian rival Denmark in a playoff to reach this summer's tournament. Hamren's squad will face Ireland, Italy and Belgium in Group E.
