MLS: Crew SC, NYCFC draw after late drama; Wright-Phillips sets Red Bulls record
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Ethan Finlay scored in the 80th and 95th minutes in Columbus' tie New York City.
David Villa gave New York City a 3-2 lead in the 92nd minute, converting a penalty kick for his 15th goal of the season. Columbus answered three minutes later when Finlay sent a loose ball into the net.
Columbus (3-8-11) set a MLS record with its sixth straight draw at home. Columbus is winless in 10 straight overall and hasn't won since May 28.
Frank Lampard opened the scoring for New York City (10-7-8) in the 41st with his ninth goal in 10 games. Justin Meram tied it in the 49th, heading in Waylon Francis' cross.
Finlay gave the Crew a 2-1 lead on a penalty kick in the 80th minute. Three minutes later, Villa tied it after settling Andrea Pirlo's chip with his right foot and scoring with his left.
RED BULLS 3, IMPACT 1
HARRISON, N.J. (AP) — Bradley Wright-Phillips scored two goals to become the New York Red Bulls' career leader and Sach Kljestan tied the club record for assists in a season in a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Impact on Saturday night.
Sean Davis had two assists in the first half and scored in the opening minute of the second to help the Red Bulls (10-9-6) extend their unbeaten streak to seven games.
Montreal (8-6-9), which entered the game tied with New York for third in the Eastern Conference, took a 1-0 lead on Ignacio Piatti's 13th goal of the season on a counter-attack in the 21st minute.
But the Red Bulls answered in the next minute when Davis and Kljestan set up Wright Phillips. It was Kljestan's league-leading 14th assist.
Davis placed a perfect cross to a Wright-Davis header in the 41st minute. It was his 14th goal of the season and 59th with the Red Bulls, moving him past Juan Pablo Angel.
In the first minute of the second half, Mike Grella fed the ball back out front from a tough angle and Davis' shot deflected off a defender to make it 3-1.
UNION 4, REVOLUTION 0
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — Chris Pontius had a goal and an assist in the second half to help Philadelphia beat New England.
Philadelphia (9-8-7) snapped a four-game winless stretch and won on the road for the first time in 10 matches. New England (6-10-8) has given up 11 goals during its three-game losing streak.
C.J. Sapong started the scoring in the second minute. Fabinho beat three defenders down the left sideline, sent a cross in front of goal and Sapong flicked it home with the outside of his foot.

Pontius scored his 10th goal of the season in the 51st minute. After two failed clearances by the Revolution, Pontius was first to a loose ball and rolled it inside the far post. Three minutes later, Pontius redirected a corner across goal and Richie Marquez headed it home.
Roland Alberg scored from distance in the 93rd minute after a give-and-go with Charlie Davies.
The Revolution's last home win in the series came on Aug. 25, 2013.
SPORTING KANSAS CITY 2, FC DALLAS 2
FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Maximiliano Urruti scored for Dallas in the 76th minute to cap a flurry of four goals in 10 minutes in the tie with Sporting Kansas City that pushed its home unbeaten streak to 18 games.
Sporting Kansas City took the lead when Dominic Dwyer scored goals five minutes apart. The first, in the 68th minute, came after a hard feed inside from Brad Davis, with Dwyer going top shelf over keeper Chris Seitz. The second came when he pounced on a loose ball in the box and sent a left footed shot into the far corner for his 12th goal of the season.
Tesho Akindele opened the scoring for Dallas with his sixth goal in the 66th minute.
Dallas (13-6-6) remained in first place in the Western Conference. Sporting KC (10-11-5) is fifth.
D.C. UNITED 2, TIMBERS 0
WASHINGTON (AP) — Steve Birnbaum and Luciano Acosta scored first-half goals and D.C. United beat Portland at sweltering RFK Stadium.
Birnbaum's second goal of the season put D.C. on the board in the seventh minute. Bobby Boswell reached Lloyd Sam's corner and headed it to foot of Birnbaum inside the box for his second goal in a week.
Acosta took a short chip from Patrick Mullins in tight quarters, got the ball to his feet and dinked it over sliding keeper Jake Gleeson in the 29th minute.

Winless in the previous six games, D.C. (6-8-9) vaulted over New England and Orlando City into playoff position in the Eastern Conference. Portland (8-9-8) holds the final spot in the Western Conference, a point up on San Jose.
GALAXY 1, RAPIDS 1
CARSON, California (AP) — Los Angeles and Colorado missed their chances to challenge for the lead in Major League Soccer's Western Conference when they played out a 1-1 draw on Saturday.
With West leader Dallas held to a draw at home against Sporting Kansas City, the second and third-placed teams had a chance to close in but neither could manage the victory.
Colorado took the lead at Los Angeles when Albanian international forward Shkelzen Gashi hammered a home a long-range shot in the 51st minute, but the Galaxy equalized in the 62nd when Daniel Steres glanced home a header from a Steven Gerrard corner.
Los Angeles goalkeeper Brian Rowe was helped off the field in the 82nd minute after a collision with Colorado's Irish striker Kevin Doyle, and was replaced by reserve keeper Dan Kennedy.
DYNAMO, TORONTO FC POSTPONED
HOUSTON (AP) — A thunderstorm forced the postponement of the Major League Soccer game Saturday night between Toronto FC and the Houston Dynamo.
The game was rescheduled for Sunday at 8:15 p.m. CDT.
Houston (4-10-8) is winless in its last five games. Toronto (10-7-6) is coming off four straight home wins.
