On Tuesday the world was presented with a report that Paris Saint-Germain were prepared to meet Barcelona star Neymar's release clause to buy him.

As things currently stand, the superstar can be bought out of his Nou Camp contract for £195m - if done so, it would absolutely shatter the transfer world record set by Manchester United for Paul Pogba in 2016.

Should PSG fail to act this summer though, that figure will rise to £221m this time next summer, as reported by Spanish publication Sport.

It will come as little surprise to everybody to know that Lionel Messi has the biggest buy-out clause of any player in the squad - should any club want to make an ambitious move for the 30-year-old, they'd have to fork out a staggering €300m.

Andres Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique and Luis Suarez all have their release clauses set at €200m, whilst the cheapest player any club could hope to get according to Sport's list is the Catalans' new signing Gerard Deulofeu at €35m.

In total, 10 players on the list would be capable of breaking Pogba's transfer world record if their release clauses were met by another club.
