Tottenham Hotspur is teetering after a torrid run of form has left them ninth in the Premier League. The Spurs will host Watford on Saturday, who have won only one of their last six games.
The Hornets make the short trip anchored to the bottom of the league, though there’s a chance they can climb one place above Norwich City with a win in north London.

The importance of this fixture isn’t to be understated following the international break. For the Spurs, it could present a big opportunity to make a statement at home and get things back on track, but their guests have less pressure and might see the opportunity more clearly.
Watford has the rare experience of entering a fixture this season with the superior recent form record, which hasn’t occurred much amid their own disastrous start to the 2019-20 campaign.
Quique Sanchez Flores has taken two points from a possible 12 since he was reappointed manager (draws against Arsenal and Sheffield United). However, both those points were won at Vicarage Road, and his side are yet to score in two away matches under the Spaniard (both losses).
Tottenham’s home record has been a somewhat reliable cornerstone this season, at least. It’s far from invulnerable, however, as Newcastle United (0-1) and Bayern Munich (2-7) have already shown with wins at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this term.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have won three times this season, each at home and each against low-to-mid-table opposition—Aston Villa, Crystal Palace and Southampton. Their 2-1 win over the Saints on September 28 was the last time Harry Kane scored from open play, since failing to do so in defeats to Bayern and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Hugo Lloris dislocated his elbow during the 3-0 loss to Brighton in Week 8, leaving Paulo Gazzaniga as his stand-in, while Michel Vorm recently rejoined the club from free agency. Ryan Sessegnon and loanee Giovani Lo Celso remain out due to injuries.
