U.S. women’s national team forward Alex Morgan is pregnant with her first child, she and husband Servando Carrasco announced Wednesday. The couple is expecting a baby girl due in April.

Carrasco, a midfielder for LA Galaxy, broke the news in a post on Instagram, posing on the beach with the couple’s two dogs.

Morgan followed up with a tweet of her own.

Morgan, 30, was a key contributor for the World Cup-winning American team last summer in France. She took home the Silver Boot award after scoring six goals in the tournament, including five in a 13–0 rout against Thailand.

The women’s soccer competition at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics begins on July 22, roughly three months after Morgan is expected to give birth. According to NBC Sports' Nick Zaccardi, Morgan's goal is to return in time to play at the Olympics.

Morgan and Carrasco met while they played soccer at Cal and were married in 2014.
