EA Spring Preview
NBA Street Homecourt (XBOX 360, PS3)

The Game Room was invited to a sneak peak of Electronic Art's upcoming releases.

The game that impressed us most was NBA Street Homecourt. Homecourt carries on a strong tradition of very entertaining game play in the Street franchise. Street hits the street on Feb. 19.
NBA Street Homecourt (XBOX 360, PS3)

In Street you can control the rhythm of your dribble by pushing the X button (360). The pace of this is key in combination with player movement and other buttons to execute a wide array of tricks. As in past Street games you use tricks to build up towards a decisive Game Breaker where you can sap points from your opponent and clown them on the court.

If you're willing to risk it you can go for a double dunk. But if you fail expect to get mangled on the court. The animations for making and missing the risk dunks are a real strong suit in Street.

Ping! Who needs the big egos and big contracts of the pros? This college baseball title allows you to swing away with your alma mater. The game includes 24 authentic stadiums, including the site of the College World Series, Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb. The best part is the refreshing new batting and pitching techniques that allow you to play most of the game with the analog sticks and bypass the buttons altogether. The game ships on Feb. 6.
NCAA March Madness 07 (XBOX 360)

The latest incarnation of EA's college hoops title allows the players to interact with the rabid student sections, school mascots, cheerleaders and even the band during key moments of the game. We'll have a full review of this game which is in stores now.
NCAA March Madness 07 (XBOX 360)

Much like in real life, the defending national champion Florida Gators dominate in the paint.

The Jayhawks' NCAA Tournament banners in the background add a nice touch.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (Wii)

Thanks to the unique Wii controller, you actually have to perform a real golf swing in your living room if you want Tiger Woods to do the same thing in the video game. The downside? You have to use your real golf swing. That slice that shows up on the real course will manifest itself here too. Just look at it as an opportunity to work on your game. This game is due out March 1.
Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (XBOX 360, PC)

Sometimes you just need a break from the sports games. If you are into real-time strategy at all, you will want to check out this title that is made by the same people who brought us the hyper-addictive Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth II. There are three factions to choose from, including aliens. No keyboard and mouse required here. Just point and click with your controller and "A" button and move your tanks into position to blow the snot out of the enemy.
Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars (XBOX 360, PC)

In addition to online play over the XBOX Live network, the single-player game consists of 38 missions. Fans of the SimCity series will appreciate the base-building aspects of the game, but in the end it's about putting together the right fighting force for the job. The PC version will be out on March 28 and the XBOX 360 title is scheduled for the spring.
