A regular on-air talent on the WWE Friday Night SmackDown show is expected to switch to the brand where it all started for him.

The WWE Draft 2024 recently wrapped up, but it appears that in-ring roster members weren't the only ones switching teams. In the past, we've seen commentators switch brands, but in this case it's a ring announcer who is reportedly on his way back to WWE NXT.

Mike Rome will be seeing black and gold once again if one report is to be believed.

Fightful's Corey Brennan reports that Rome is expected to return to WWE NXT for ring announcing duties. Brennan initially noted that Rome could possibly show up on the brand as soon as the April 30th episode, but he later followed up by confirming Alicia Taylor will stay on the call for at least this upcoming show.

Mike Rome is currently serving as the SmackDown ring announcer. He had been on NXT from 2016 through 2019. He then scored the role as the Monday Night Raw ring announcer before moving to the blue brand. Whether or not this means Alicia Taylor is being moved to Friday nights remains to be seen.
