A day after Indiana's exit from the NCAA tournament, one of Tom Crean's top aides is exiting for a new job.

Hoosiers assistant Steve McClain will be the next head coach at Illinois-Chicago, a source confirmed to SI.com on Saturday morning.

The 52-year-old McClain spent five seasons on Crean's staff at Indiana. His one previous head coaching job was at Wyoming, where he went 157-115 with one NCAA tournament berth in 2002.

McClain replaces Howard Moore, who was fired on March 10 after compiling a 47-111 record across five seasons. ESPN and CBS first reported the news of McClain's hire.
