Celtics vs. Heat Prediction, Odds and Best NBA Prop Bets for Wednesday, April 1

In this story:
Two Eastern Conference rivals face off on Wednesday night, as the Boston Celtics aim to sweep the Miami Heat in their regular-season series.
Miami has slipped to the No. 9 seed in the Eastern Conference, and a loss on Wednesday would knock it back to the No. 10 seed with less than two weeks left in the regular season.
Meanwhile, Boston is coming off a loss to the Atlanta Hawks on the second night of a back-to-back on Monday. The C’s are expected to get Jayson Tatum and Neemias Queta back in action (both are off the injury report) tonight, which has led to them being set as road favorites.
Can Bam Adebayo and company pull off an upset? It won’t be easy with All-Star guard Norman Powell ruled out for Wednesday’s contest.
Let’s take a look at the odds, a player prop to consider and my prediction for this matchup on April 1.

Celtics vs. Heat Best NBA Prop Bets
Celtics Best NBA Prop Bet
- Jayson Tatum OVER 2.5 3-Pointers (-157)
In today’s best NBA props column, I shared why Tatum could have a big game from beyond the arc:
Tatum has not shot the 3-ball well in the 2025-26 season, but it hasn’t stopped him from taking a ton of shots from beyond the arc.
In 11 games, Tatum is shooting 32.3 percent from 3-point range on 9.0 attempts per game – the third-highest mark of his career. He’s only made three or more 3-pointers in five of his 11 games, but he’s now taking on a Miami team that is in the bottom 10 in the NBA in opponent 3s made per game this season.
The Heat play at the fastest pace in the NBA, so Boston should have a few more possessions than usual (the C’s are dead last in pace), which could lead to more attempts from Tatum. The Celtics star is coming off his best game of the season, scoring 32 points while shooting 5-for-10 from beyond the arc from 3 in a win over Charlotte.
Celtics vs. Heat Prediction and Pick
Earlier today, I shared in my NBA Best Bets column – Peter’s Points – why Boston is worth a look as a road favorite:
The Boston Celtics dropped Monday’s game against the Atlanta Hawks with Jayson Tatum and Neemias Queta out of the lineup, but the C’s are expected to have both players back in action for Wednesday’s game with the Miami Heat.
Miami is just 3-7 in its last 10 games, ranking 20th in the league in net rating (-6.9) during that stretch. Boston, on the other hand, ranks in the top four in the NBA in net rating, defensive rating and offensive rating this season, recording a 9-2 record in the 11 games that Tatum has played in.
So, I love the C’s as small road favorites in this game.
Boston is 14-8 against the spread as a road favorite this season, and Miami has been pretty shaky against teams that are .500 or better this season, going 21-28. The Heat are 0-3 against Boston in the 2025-26 campaign with two of those losses coming by five or more points.
Miami is looking to avoid the No. 10 seed in the East, but it has not played well down the stretch of the season and is without All-Star Norman Powell on Wednesday.
I’m going to trust Boston to bounce back after a loss against Atlanta earlier in the week.
Pick: Celtics -4.5 (-118 at DraftKings)
