The Guardians got a home sweep of the Angels back in May, limiting Los Angeles to two runs in each contest.

Parker Messick deserves a record a lot better than 9-8, as shown by his 2.54 ERA. The southpaw has allowed just 12 runs (10 earned) in 48 innings (1.88 ERA) since the start of July.

George Klassen has been fantastic since getting recalled earlier this month. He’s allowed three runs on 10 hits in 17 innings, including seven one-hit innings against Houston last time out.

Jo Adell will return to Anaheim tonight after being shipped to Cleveland at the deadline. HE’s hitting .258 with a .532 slugging percentage in 62 at-bats for the Guardians after posting a .239 average and .395 slugging in 423 at-bats with the Angels.

Adell has two hits in each of his last three games, and has gone OVER 1.5 bases in eight of his last 13 games. He’ll be locked in tonight against his former team.

The Guardians are on the upswing with four straight wins and a 6-2 record in their last eight games. And while the Angels have been better as of late with alternating wins and losses, they face a tough test in this hot Cleveland team.

Parker Messick has been terrific for the Guardians this season, including 6.2 innings of two-run ball against the Angels back in May. George Klassen has been solid for the Angels as of late as well, but I need to see more than three starts before I believe it, and Los Angeles’ bullpen struggles behind him.

The Angels also struggle against left-handed pitching, going 13-26 vs. LHP (39-53 vs. RHP) on the year.
