Dayton's Ryan Bass (concussion symptoms) out for season

Saturday January 3rd, 2015

Dayton point guard Ryan Bass will miss the rest of the season "due to concerns related to his developing concussion-related symptoms," the school announced Saturday.

Bass, a fifth-year senior, is in his first season with the Flyers. He played three seasons at Oakland but left the program before the start of the 2013-14 season. He was averaging 3.1 points and 0.8 assists in 9.1 minutes per game this season.

Chris Holtmann named Butler's coach

The injury leaves Dayton with just eight scholarship players. Junior forwards Devon Scott and Jalen Robinson were dismissed from the team on Dec. 17. ESPN's Jeff Goodman reports the players "were involved in a trespassing incident in the dorms in which they allegedly stole money." Scott and Robinson were the Flyers' only players taller than 6-foot-6.

Dayton (10-2) begins Atlantic 10 play against Duquesne on Saturday afternoon.
