Florida State DE Chris Casher will not play again Saturday

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher announced Thursday that defensive end Chris Casher will not play versus Citadel on Saturday. Casher had to sit out of the Seminoles opener against Oklahoma State as well, because of what the school called an "academic related matter."

Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher announced Thursday that defensive end Chris Casher will not play versus Citadel on Saturday, according to Natalie Pierre of the Tallahassee Democrat.

Casher had to sit out of the Seminoles opener against Oklahoma State as well, because of what the school called an "academic related matter."

Fisher said there is no timetable for when Casher will be allowed to return.

Casher had 25 tackles and two sacks last season. He entered the season listed as a starter at linebacker on the team's depth chart.

FSU cornerback P.J. Williams will also sit out versus Citadel because of a lingering hamstring injury, reports Pierre

On Tuesday, it was announced that Seminoles wide receiver Jesus Wilson had his suspension for theft of a motor scooter lifted.

Florida State remains No. 1 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll heading into Week 2.
