Charlie Strong on team's play: It wouldn't be a good letter grade
Texas, currently sitting at 2-3 this season, is a two-touchdown underdog entering its annual Red River Rivalry with No. 11 Oklahoma on Saturday.
Texas coach Charlie Strong hasn't been pleased with his team's performance so far this season. Strong has dismissed nine players since taking over the program in January, but he isn't making any excuses.
“We’re not playing up to our ability. We can play a lot better than what we’re playing," Strong said, according to the Dallas Morning News. “I don’t want to say a letter grade but I would say this: If it was a letter grade, it wouldn’t be very good.”

The Longhorns' offense has struggled since losing senior center Dominic Espinosa to an ankle injury and quarterback David Ash to a career-ending concussion early in the season. The Longhorns' offense ranks next to last in the Big 12 in both scoring average and yards per game.
But Strong said he understood what is expected of him when he took the job after spending the past four seasons at Louisville.
“It’s a big-time job, and you expect big-time things to happen,” Strong said.
