Bama player personnel director Tyler Siskey to coach South Alabama WRs
Alabama director of player personnel Tyler Siskey will be named South Alabama’s wide receivers coach, according to sources.
It marks a return to coaching the field for Siskey, who coached wide receivers at Arkansas State from 2008-11. He has spent the last two seasons with the Crimson Tide, primarily focused on recruiting.
The 37-year-old Siskey was initially hired as associate director of player personnel in March 2013 before being promoted last January. Prior to his arrival in Tuscaloosa, Siskey was Mississippi’s coordinator of recruiting development for a year.
Before his four seasons at Arkansas State, Siskey was an assistant at St. Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile, Ala. He was also a graduate assistant at Arkansas State from 2002 through the spring of 2004.

An Anniston, Ala. native, Siskey was also a graduate assistant at Northwestern State from 2000-01 and a student assistant coach at Troy, where he graduated in 2000. He joins a South Alabama program that made its inaugural bowl appearance this past season under coach Joey Jones, who launched the Jaguars program seven years ago and has overseen its transition to the FBS.
Siskey replaces former South Alabama wide receivers coach Tim Bowens, who was moved to coach running backs under new Jaguars offensive coordinator Bryant Vincent. Vincent emerged as one of college football’s brightest play-callers in his lone campaign this past season at now-defunct Alabama-Birmingham.
