Coroner: Former Ohio State player Kosta Karageorge did not have CTE
A pathologist who studied the brain of former Ohio State football player Kosta Karageorge found that he had "prior concussive injury" but did not have CTE, according to a report from Cleveland.com's Doug Lesmerises.
Karageorge was found dead near his apartment in late November, a few days after he was reported missing.
Before he was reported missing, Karageorge reportedly expressed to his mother in a text message the extent to which head injuries were affecting his life. "I am sorry if I am an embarrassment but these concussions have my head all f----- up,'' he wrote.

A coroner said in January that Karageorge's death will be ruled a suicide.
CTE is a neurodegenerative brain disease that has been detected in athletes who have suffered repeated hits to the head. Karageorge wrestled for the Buckeyes before walking on to the football team before the 2014 season.
