Tennessee has reinstated senior wide receiver Von Pearson, the team announced on Friday.

On Wednesday, Knox County district attorney general Charme Allen announced Pearson will not face rape charges after being named a suspect in a three-month investigation.

Pearson, 23, was accused of rape in April by a fellow Tennessee student and subsequently suspended by both the football team and the university.

After reviewing the investigation, Allen determined there was insufficient evidence to sustain a criminal prosecution.

Pearson is the Volunteers' second-leading returning receiver. In 11 games last season, he recorded 393 receiving yards on 38 catches with five touchdowns.
