TCU WR Josh Doctson not out for season, will play Saturday

TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson is not out for the rest of the season and will play against Kansas on Saturday.

After confusion earlier in the day about the fate of the remainder of TCU wide receiver Josh Doctson’s season, head coach Gary Patterson confirmed Thursday that Doctson is healthy and ready to play against Kansas on Saturday.

Reports that Doctson would be out the rest of the season with a wrist injury arose after a misunderstanding between Patterson and Chris Childers, host of Sirius XM College Radio’s Full Ride show. 

Doctson suffered the injury during the second quarter of a 49–29 loss to Oklahoma State on Nov. 7. 

During the show, Patterson could be heard saying that “Josh Doctson is gonna be gone in three ballgames and a bowl game.” The hosts took that to mean Doctson was sitting for the rest of the season. 

However, Patterson told reporters after the interview, that he simply meant the senior would be moving on from the program after the season.

Doctson went through a non-contact practice on Wednesday and is listed as probable.

Doctson leads the Horned Frogs receiving core with 1,314 yards and 14 touchdowns through nine games this season.
