No. 1 Michigan State in attendance for Cotton Bowl

The top-ranked Michigan State Spartans were in attendance for the Cotton Bowl on Thursday night, when the football Spartans took on Alabama at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

The Spartans have been in the Dallas area since the middle of the week.

Head coach Tom Izzo shared a moment with Michigan State’s head football coach Mark Dantonio on the field before kickoff. Alabama’s head coach Nick Saban also embraced Izzo before the College Football Playoff semifinal matchup.

Michigan State is coming off a loss to unranked Iowa on Tuesday, as the Spartans picked up their first defeat of the season.

The Spartans travel to Minnesota to play the Golden Gophers at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday.
