Sean Miller: Arizona, Pac-12 to discuss court storming issue again
Sean Miller says Arizona plans to bring up the issue of court storming with the rest of the Pac-12.
In a statement Saturday, following a court-rush by Colorado fans after Arizona’s road loss on Wednesday night, Miller said the school planned to raise the subject, which has been discussed in the past but without action, once again.
“I am aware that the Pac-12 Conference and the athletic directors have brought up court storming before, and it did not have the majority support that it needed,” Miller wrote. “University of Arizona president Ann Weaver Hart and Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott have agreed to raise it again, and I want to thank them for their consideration.”
Miller was vocal about his stance against the popular post-upset fan practice after Wednesday’s game. According to ESPN, fans stormed the court for the 10th time in No. 9 Arizona’s last 11 road losses.

“I have no problem being a great sport,” Miller said Wednesday. “But eventually what's going to happen in the Pac-12 is this: An Arizona player is going to punch a fan, and they are going to punch the fan out of self-defense. And only when it happens will everyone take a deep breath and say, “We have to do something to protect both teams.’”
“If we lose, at least let us get off the court so that our guys aren't potentially in a situation where a lawsuit could come,” he added. “Because when that comes, then and only then will people pay attention.”
