Duke’s Mike Krzyzewski defends ACC’s decision to not suspend Grayson Allen

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski came to the defense of the way that his team and the ACC handled guard Grayson Allen’s second tripping incident of the season.

Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski came to the defense of the way that his team and the ACC handled guard Grayson Allen’s second tripping incident of the season, according to ESPN.com.  

After Allen was assessed a flagrant foul for tripping an opponent in his team’s game against Florida State on Feb. 25, both Duke and the conference declined to issue a suspension. The ACC reprimanded Allen in a statement. 

For Krzyzewski, he believed the reprimand was enough. 

“I would not suspend any player for what would be a flagrant 1,” Krzyzewski said. “What he got was the stiffest reprimand a player in our conference has gotten this year. I thought the [ACC] took action, and you've got to move on. The world doesn't move on, because it's Duke.”

Allen first tripped an opponent on Feb. 8 during a 72–65 win over Louisville.

The sophomore is leading Duke statistically this season, averaging 20.9 points and 3.6 assists.
