Kansas GOP to hold caucus in Missouri to accommodate Wichita State fans
The Kansas GOP will hold a caucus in Missouri on Saturday to accommodate Wichita State fans.
Due to several requests from fans, the caucus will now be held in St. Louis near the site of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament at the Scottrade Center. Top-seeded Wichita State plays its first game Friday, following a first-round bye.
“This is a nationally unprecedented act for a state political party to hold a Caucus site in another state,” party chairman Kelly Arnold said in a release. “Our Party’s ability to adapt and improvise to meet the needs of its voters demonstrates its unrelenting focus on ensuring every Kansan who wants to vote in the Caucus can vote.”
Fans of Wichita State’s in-state rival Kansas Jayhawks protested Monday against the scheduling of Saturday‘s game against Iowa State, which is set for 4 p.m. ET and interferes with caucus voting.

The fans established a Facebook page for the protest, but will not see a change made, as ESPN said it could not alter the game’s time due to its television schedule.
