As spring drills roll on, SI.com is breaking down three of the top prospects that could be headed to schools in each of the five major conferences. Today, we’re focusing on the Big 12.

It’s been a little more than a month since the 2016 recruiting cycle wrapped up on National Signing Day, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start looking ahead to prospects in the class of 2017. As spring drills roll on, SI.com is breaking down three of the top prospects that could be headed to schools in each of the five major conferences. We’ve already looked at the ACC. Today, we’re focusing on the Big 12. All rankings are from Scout.com.

Shawn Robinson

High school: John H. Guyer (Denton, Tex.)
Height/Weight: 6’2’’/205 lbs
Position: Quarterback
Position rank: 1
National rank: 10
Status: Committed to TCU

Scout.com scouting report: “Robinson has all of the tools that you are looking for in a young quarterback prospect, but is an extremely gifted runner. Physically and mentally he is prepared for the next level. Had a tough time picking the area of improvement for his profile. Has the true ability to beat you with his arm or his legs on any snap. He works well outside the pocket extending plays and will find receivers before just taking off when things break down, but when he does run he is always a threat to score.”

Anthony Hines

High school: Plano East Senior (Plano, Tex.)
Height/Weight: 6’2.5’’/218 lbs
Position: Inside linebacker
Position rank: 1
National rank: 16
Status: Uncommitted

Scout.com scouting report: “Hines is a prospect who brings a lot of the qualities to the table that you are looking for in a top-tier linebacker prospect. He can play sideline-to-sideline and he will also deliver booming hits. He is a versatile prospect who could play middle linebacker or outside linebacker once he arrives in college and it is that scheme versatility that has helped him secure one of the nation's most elite offer lists. He is always around the football and collected crazy stats as a junior in 2015.”

Jeffrey Okudah

High school: South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, Tex.)
Height/Weight: 6’1’’/190 lbs
Position: Safety
Position rank: 1
National rank: 18
Status: Uncommitted

Scout.com scouting report: “We really like Okudah's game because he's just a great all-around football player. SGP has lined him up in a number of different positions and he has played passionately at all of them. He will likely project out as a jumbo safety by the time he is done growing, but has the coverage skills and experience as a junior playing extensively at cornerback. He is long and muscular with great explosion. He can tackle well in space and tracks down faster backs with relative ease. Good coverage abilities as well as he spent a lot of time at cornerback and has the ability to play one-on-one coverage against some of the top receivers in the nation.”
