Jacksons lead West past East in McDonald's game

CHICAGO (AP) One MVP is set on Duke, the other MVP is going to reveal his choice soon.

Frank Jackson and Josh Jackson each scored 19 points, and the West beat the East 114-107 in the boys McDonald's All American Game on Wednesday night.

Frank Jackson, who has committed to play for Mike Krzyzewski at Duke, was 5 for 7 from 3-point range. Josh Jackson, who is considering Michigan State, Kansas and Arizona for his college choice, was 9-for-11 shooting.

Josh Jackson is waiting to be home in Napa, California before announcing his college choice. He will participate in the Nike Hoop Summit next week and the Jordan Brand Classic the following week.

''I have not a set a date yet,'' Josh Jackson said. ''I'm really waiting for an opportunity where I can be home and be around my family and close friends because I really want to be around the people who have been supporting me the whole way through.''

Frank Jackson and Josh Jackson were named co-MVPs.

''They're the real deal. I told people earlier this week if there was a basketball heaven this sure is it right here,'' West coach Dale A. Mabrey said. ''This is a tremendous week. I can't say enough. The duo of the Jacksons was special tonight. I loved to sit back and watch them.''

Frank Jackson also won the slam dunk contest on Monday night.

''It's all surreal to me. I never thought this would happen to be honest,'' he said.

Jayson Tatum had 18 points for the East, and Bam Abebayo added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Tatum also has committed to the Blue Devils.

''First half, I thought we all had jitters,'' Tatum said. ''Bright lights, being on national TV, but it's basketball and all of us are well prepared.''

Lonzo Ball, who was named player of the year, had a game-high 13 assists for the West. He is committed to UCLA.

''Like I said before, thank God for Alonzo Ball. He had a great game,'' Josh Jackson said.

The West led for most of the night.

Markelle Fultz showed off his long range shooting with back-to-back 3s to help the East close to 82-70, but the West responded with 11 straight points, highlighted by Frank Jackson's back-to-back 3s

Fultz finished with 10 points.

Malik Monk, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, energized the United Center crowd with a reverse alley-oop for the West. On the next possession, he took a pass from Ball and elevated high for the dunk. Monk was one of four Kentucky recruits playing in the game.

Josh Jackson made a 3-pointer to put the West up 52-47 at the break.
