Jim Harbaugh joins national council to help poor receive legal aid

Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh has joined a national council to raise awareness and funds for the legal needs of the poor, reports MLive.com’s Nick Baumgardner.

Harbaugh, who will begin his second season as Michigan’s head coach in the fall, will be part of the “Leaders Council” for the initiative, according to the report.

“The first step to more funding is more awareness,” Legal Services Corporation​ president James Sandman said. “If Jim Harbaugh would simply speak on the issue [of the legal aid crisis] it would be heard differently.”

Harbaugh will be introduced as part of the council at the White House on Tuesday.
